'Forbidden Colours' (named after the David Sylvan / Ryuichi Sakamoto song of the same name) is the omnibus that piece that each part - 'Part 1: Innocence', 'Part 2: Childhood + Trauma', 'Part 3: Corruption', and 'Part 4: Angel with a Jet Black Heart' - contributes to the full narrative. The piece borrows iconography from childhood, such as pinatas, children's books ('Where the Wild Things Are'), and Saturday morning cartoons ('Where Are You, Scooby Doo?'), and taints them. The piece also borrows from the anime, 'Made in Abyss', a spiritual sibling that explores how the evils of humanity strain the hearts of hopeful youths. But I see the final part as a glimmer of hope.
